On May 23, 2008 we celebrated our 20th anniversary. The NPI team was thrilled to feature author and Olympic diving champion Greg Louganis as keynote speaker at our dinner. The event was held at the Toledo Hilton on the Health Science Campus of the University of Toledo.

NPI honored Northcoast Behavioral Healthcare for its excellence in advocacy and strong focus on recovery. The NPI team created the Recovery Banner, which all mental health consumers and supporters were invited to sign. With its bright colors and puzzle piece design, the banner illustrates how dynamic the healing journey is, as well as the importance of relationships with other people. The Lucas County Commissioners passed a proclamation in honor of NPI's 20 years at their May 20 meeting.
